INTERFAITH PATHS TO PEACE, INC. is a 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to work with faith communities and others of parallel interests to educate, advocate, coordinate and empower the larger community in support of peace, human rights and justice. For more information about IPP and how to become involved, call Pam Yenawine, Executive Director at 502/214-7322, or visit our web site www.InterfaithPathsToPeace.org. Our office is located in the Diocesan House at Christ Church Cathedral, 425 S. 2nd Street, Louisville, KY 40202.

CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL is the oldest church building in Louisville Founded May 31, 1822, when Louisville was a bustling town on the western frontier, this congregation, still in its original location, remains today as a vital presence in the center of the modern city. The original structure, completed in 1824, was built according to a modified Federal meeting-house design. The building as we see it today preserves much of the original fabric, plus a series of 19th century additions and alterations. The 1870 façade seems to have set the pattern for Old Louisville churches, with its two asymmetrical towers, predominantly English Medieval sources and the use of local limestone.

Throughout its history, Christ Church has been known for its spiritual life, the quality of its worship and music, the high standard of preaching and for service to the community.

THE ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE was begun in 1985 as a send off for The Ribbon tied around the Pentagon and the White House in Washington, D.C. The Council on Peacemaking continued the service through 1996 when the organization reorganized and become three separate entities, one of which is Interfaith Paths to Peace. IPP has continued the service since that time.
